Operation Jedburgh

During the pre-dawn hours of June 5/6 1944 the legendary Jedburgh teams first launched  into occupied France. The “Jeds” were two to four man teams with at least one officer, one native French speaker and an enlisted radioman. Their mission was to help French Resistance groups make the lives of Nazis utter hell by supplementing existing resistance and Allied units, arming and providing much needed supplies, gathering intelligence, and acting as liaisons between the Allies and Resistance. They were force multipliers, and the legends modern Army SF units and CIA SAD capabilities model themselves after.

Here at Inglorious Amateurs we decided to continue honoring the Glorious Amateurs with a design that encompasses not only the Jedburghs but the Office of Strategic Services officers that helped recruit, train and work in country with the Jeds.

This design pays homage to the “Oh So Social” moniker which was meant to poke fun at the “PhDs who can win a bar fight”. The three parachutists on the back of the shirt represent the 3 main groups who comprised a Jedburgh team: OSS, SOE and the BCRA. These Jeds are departing one of the OSS’ Special Mission “Carpetbagger” B-24s.

Professionally screened on the perfect 60/40 blend cotton/poly shirt in Light Olive color.
