During WWII what was then called the Catoctin Recreational Demonstration Area (now Catoctin Mountain park) was converted into one of several OSS training sites. Catoctin Area B played a significant role in training Special Operations (SO), Secret Intelligence (SI) and Operational Groups (OG) personnel. Our design is an homage to OSS elements that make up a revised version of the National Park Service insignia.
